Blue Hill Bach is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to presenting historically informed performances, educational programs, and community engagement centered around Baroque music.

Founded in 2011, Blue Hill Bach has grown from a single summer concert into a year-round organization featuring concerts, educational initiatives, the annual Blue Hill Bach Festival, and the Young Artist Choral Fellowship. Together with guest artists, emerging musicians, and our local community, we celebrate the richness of early music in Downeast Maine.

Position Overview

Blue Hill Bach is seeking an Artistic Director to provide artistic leadership for the organization while working collaboratively with our Executive Director, Board of Directors, musicians, and guest artists. This part-time independent contractor role is responsible for shaping the artistic vision of Blue Hill Bach through thoughtful Baroque programming that advances the organization's mission.  Conducting experience is not required, as many of our performances are led by the musicians or by guest artists, making this an ideal opportunity for someone with strong artistic vision, programming expertise, and collaborative leadership skills.
